KEY WORDS: Maps, Digital Data, LRMP, Topographical ABSTRACT Area in measurement refers to the amount of space covered by a flat surface or piece of land, described as a measurement. In the simplest form area is calculated as the product of length and breadth in geometry. For complex polygons it is calculated by using formulae prescribed by coordinate geometry. Area of a country keeps changing with the changes in its international boundary. In case of Nepāl, the area was calculated in BS 2031 (1974 AD) for the first time. Since then the international boundary with its neighbors has changed several times and we have witnessed changes in area according to the maps produced in different times.
